Academic Mobility for foreign and exchange students



The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) opens its doors to students of other institutions, both national and foreign, who are interested in developing a study stay in any of the wide variety of specialties for undergraduate and postgraduate that the university offers. Students can develop academic activities such as: one or two cycles of studies, internship or research; according to their specialty and level. 

The current programs include the following:
Platform for Academic and Student Mobility of the Pacific Alliance (Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru) _Plataforma de Movilidad estudiantil y académica de la Alianza del Pacífico_, which enables student mobility among countries in the region.
Student Mobility Program of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean-Programa de movilidad estudiantil de la Unión de Universidades de América Latina y El Caribe-(PAME-UDUAL).
Doctoral Scholarships and Short Post Doctoral Stays Program of Carolina Foundation-Programa de Becas de doctorado y Estancias cortas postdoctorales de la Fundación Carolina (FC) for university professors and administrative staff. 
FINPE PAB Program, between the National Agrarian University La Molina-Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina-, the National University of Peruvian Amazon-Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana- and the University of Turku (Finland).

Erasmus Mundus Lindo, with universities of Chile, Cuba, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and european universities; with Spain, the Ibero-American University Association For Postgraduate Studies- Asociación Universitaria Iberoamericana de Postgrado (AUIP); the Red Franco Peruana “Raúl Porras Barrenechea” with France; Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean; among others. 
Leipzig University (Germany), which manage, before the German Academic Exchange Service (DDAD) a 1400€ scholarship for students from San Marcos 
– ELAP (Emerging Leaders of in American Program).

UNIVERSITY MOBILITY PROGRAM FOR FOREIGN AND NATIONAL STUDENTS

It offers, for visiting students, advice service for obtaining Peruvian visa and access the services that  university offers. At the end of the stay, visiting stu-dents have the right to receive an Official Transcript of records, which will help in the homologation of studied subjects approved in their universities of origin and continue with their education. For this reason the programs have the following programs:

1.PROGRAM OF EXCHANGE STUDENTS made for students from institutions with which the UNMSM has signed agreement and/or cooperative document. They are entitled to have an Attestation (Peruvian students) or Official Transcript of records (foreign students). 
2. PROGRAM OF FREE STUDENTS made for students from institutions with which the UNMSM has NOT signet any agreement and/or cooperative document. They are entitled to have an Attestation (Peruvian students) or Official Transcript of records (foreign students). 

REQUIREMENTS 
External students, both national and foreign, who are interested in taking courses at UNMSM should send the University Mobility Application (see http//cooperacion-unmsm. blogspot.com) with the requirements that are indicated. 
- Spanish language because the courses are conducted in this one. If they want to follow a Spanish course they must coordinate it previously.

- Students from the program of free students have to cover their expenses of transportation, health insurance and living costs during their stay. 
- To make tthe proposal of the study plan, students should be aware that academic activities are carried out in two semesters, mostly, or in an academic year: Law and Political Science, Accounting, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine. 
- Academic Stay, deadlines of applications 
- Semester I  2nd half of March-2st half of July: December 15th of previous year 
- Semester II  2nd half of August-1st half of December: May 31st.
- Research and Internships 
- Date of Application: Two months before the start of the activity  
- According to the School, students must have a notice of acceptance of the tutor and/or School of destiny at San Marcos University.

3. PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS OF SAN MARCOS UNIVERSITY 

Students, professors and staff of our university com-munity can access to academic stays and/ or graduate studies in Peru and abroad.
